A Hellenic Nationalist living in the belly of the beast.

I'm a Hellenic Nationalist living in New York City, the epicenter of globalization and Western decadence. I plan to use this blog as a stream of consciousness, a soapbox, and a bitching post. I offer the unique perspective of an old world Nationalistic upbringing while raised in the cultureless and nation-less Western world of meaningless nation-less nihilism and market values. I will be a critic and a dilettante and I hold dear to my heart the dream of a Nationalist Revolution in my Fatherland.

Very well researched and written article. Excellent source of information.
Well, I probably shouldn't complain about any analysis that puts a positive spin on Iran, given the amount of anti-Iranian hasbara being pumped out by the nominally "Western" media 24-7, but there's a glaring inaccuracy (omission?) with this piece by phishmonger that needs to be corrected.
The U.S., NATO, Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Iran all played a vital role in the dismemberment and destruction of Yugoslavia.
A fact that shames and angers me as much now, as it did 10 years ago when I first found out about it and 7 years ago when the coup de grace was delivered at Kosovo-Metohijia.
One other thing I noticed in that piece. He doesn't actually come out and say it, but he strongly hints that Iranians are innately hostile to Azerbaijanis. Some sort of blood enmity or something. Nothing could be further from the truth.
Iran is hostile to the very idea of the "Republic of Azerbaijan" only because it is viewed as part of Iran's natural territory that was lopped off by Russia... and is now pretty much nothing more than an oil pipeline and a cat's paw to be used against Iran by the "Western" (USraeli) powers.
Quite right on both counts.
But as far as Azerbaijanis go, Iran's population itself is anywhere from 1/4 to 1/3 (depending on the source of one's data) Azerbaijani. I'm half Azerbaijani myself, as are many others in my family. Heck, Khamenei himself is Azerbaijani. The Safavid Dynasty that established Esfahan as the capital of Iran and Shia Islam as the state religion were Azerbaijanis. Even Zoroaster was from Azerbaijan (back when it was still Medea)
Persians tend not to view Azerbaijanis as real Turks per se (not in the Osmanli sense) but as merely Turkic-speaking Iranians. This seems to be born out by the history and culture of the Azeris. As with the Kurds, Azeris are descendants of the Medes. Their religion was Zoroastrianism, they celebrate Norouz, and they give their kids names like Dara, Babak, Arash, Arya, etc. not Azal Guzul Mazalduzul or whatever.
