Hellenism And Russia?

A flawed opinion article from the prolific Greek-American activist, Theodore Karakostas,he leaves out the many intrigues Russia was involved in against Greek interests, all in the time of theocratic rule in Russia, such as when Russia supported Bulgars and their mad quest to steal Greek land, all through our history --Russia , Tsarist theocratic and Communist and today's parliamentary democracy, only did what's good for Russia.

Russians are shifty. Don't trust them...

Russia is definitely shifty but if we can use them then we should do so. I would not trust them with anything *vital* though like military agreements in then event of war. They aren't good for that. During the war in Mikra Asia, they completely sided with Kemal attaturk and did not want Greece to control the Bosporus. WHY?, I still have not figured this one out. Anyway, we should use them where it suits Hellenic interests, mainly in business dealings though like the Burgas Alexandroupoli pipeline, weapons production and procurement. I would rather Greece forge closer ties in ALL fields with Romania and Bulgaria now that they are in the EU.

We should take advantage of the Orange crisis in Ukraine to take back Odesso and use the EU to take back Eastern Roumelia in Thrace. Kemal helped Lenin take power so Lenin gave him Chechens to kill Greeks in Smyrna when the Turks felt sorry for their neighbors. Lenin hated Greece because Greece sent troops to side with the Whites against him in the Russian Civil War 1917-22. It is not a coincidence Smyrna was also 1922.
