Anti-Nationalist Propaganda By Greek Mass Media

This pic and caption under the title A Cypriot woman gazes at headstones... as published by establishment ekathimerini.com is one example , out of many now common place ones, of a barely concealed attempt to distort historical reality and falsely demonize Nationalism.

The propaganda shows some tombstones and notes that today " marked 31 years since the start of a nationalist coup, which a few days later led to the Turkish invasion of the island." As if the nationalist coup killed those people, and Turkey is completely innocent. In past years Nicos Samson ,the nationalist coup leader, who trained under the Great Cypriot Liberation hero Grivas and was part of the noble Cypriot resistance organization EOKA, had been described as extremist or right-wing, nowadays he's a Nationalist. I have no qualms with such a description , after all, the man executed several successful operations that led to Greeks regaining some 97 percent of Cyprus, not that anybody cares to remember his good deeds--the mass man , by and large, chooses to believe that he was a CIA agent, a CIA agent who liberates Cyprus for Greeks.

Thanks for the encouragement eoka assassin,

Grivas is a great example of a Nationalist who was a liberation hero. Military historians have described the EOKA organization's very successful guerilla campaign against the British Empire as the first post-Second World War anti-Imperialist liberation struggle with Nationalist ideals , with the Algerian Nationalist liberation struggle against France coming in as a close second.

Grivas was a true agoniste, his military campaign began with his bravery under fire in the campaign to liberate Asia Minor following World War I earning him many high commendations and then he later added to his glory with his "X" organization that fought a determined military campaign against the Communists. To cap his legacy, his EOKA organization in his native Cyprus ,singlehandedly liberated Cyprus from many decades of British Imperialist foreign rule. This should shut up any absurd Communist arguments that Nationalists are "imperialists" The later manifestation of EOKA B would have gotten rid of the turkish presence in Makronesso or Cyprus forever, now this has been left in the hands of the politicians and not the true fighters and true Greeks. Nikos Samson was a dedicated prodigy and student to this great man. I can only pray that the Greek race can produce fighting men as brave and as dedicated to their Nation.

In today's Greece , institutional education has attempted to re-write the historical recond, and like so many times in the past, the traitors try to kill the patriots post-mortem.

You can purchase many excellent publications and articles on Grivas from Golden Dawn or XYRSI AVGHI (liked to this blog) publications , some re-prints of Grivas's original writings are available from Golden Dawn affiliated publisher logxi (logxi.com)

You might also want to look up , if you have not already,Charles Foley's decent historical narrative on Grivas and EOKA titled "The Struggle for Cyprus" I remember one passage where Foley describes a British journalist hovering over the scene of a shootout between turks and Nicos Samson, Samson simply turned toward the English bastard and shot him point-blank..Great stuff!

Another thing about Nicos Samson, I remember talking to a Cypriot student , with leftist leanings, who actually met Samson and said that he's a good guy who meant well and did what he had to do in a crisis situation and many who have actually met him can only say so much in Cyprus. This one interview I caught on leftist Cacoyiannis's documentary "Attila '74" has Samson saying " Mister Cacoyiannis... Mister Cacoyiannis let me put it simple, my deeds were done for one thing --the blue and white ensign with the cross, I along with EOKA B ended up regaining almost all of Cyprus for Greeks" He came across as super-confident, proud and masculine. I certainly wouldn't mind him as a leader, he's a real man , and a real Greek. Plus , judging from his name, and from what I've heard, even though he was born in his beloved Cyprus, he was also of Pontic Greek origin.I love him. Grivas and Samson, true legends.Yes.
