The Whores Of New York

Come see the whores of new york
Come lose your mind in central park
But don’t leave your soul behind
Come take in 8th street after dark
Such peculiar people you’ll remark
You might even see a murder

And all the sluts on bleecker street
They wear the blissful grin
Caused by the drugs they take
To relieve them of their sins

And ’oh lord I think she’s dying’
I heard somebody say
I think she’s dying
And ’oh oh lord I think she’s dying’

Or maybe she’s already dead
And maybe she’s gone to mars
Maybe we could even write
Her epitaph in the stars
It’d say ’if you go away from here...
If you go a million miles...’
Come downtown to see them go
Into the den of the whores of new york
But please watch your step
As you’re getting off, kids

That's the spirit! Hit 'em (Americans) where it hurts.

Actually, I don't think most Americans (or, at least, American males) would be offended by this. The truth is that most American males WANT American women to be as slutty as possible in order to increase their chances of fornicating with them in the most unnatural means. And American women are only too happy to oblige.

Hellenian's right.

Americans have no self respect, they just want to fullfill their demon lusts with anyone , anywhere by and large.

Generally speaking, they have no God , but Mammon , money, That is especially so in New York. Thus their heroes are whores.

Americans would probably just see this as a poem of praise.

I read this, and while I agree with the sentiment, I wonder why you live in America if you despise the country and all its people so much.

Anon,

Do I detect some displeasure at the poem?

Ata-boy, let it all out. Dialogue is the first step toward real healing, folks.

I think the poem overall is on target for a large segment portion of the American population.

As I said in my earlier post, "I agree with the sentiment".

Just more curious why you live in a country that you despise quite strongly (at least, that is my impression from reading your interesting blog).

Well, Anon

Despise is a strong word. Indifferent and unimpressed is more accurate. I simply love my Fatherland, and realize that while America's scientific achievements may have some merit for the Fatherland, America's all consuming mass culture, military chauvinism and depraved mission is a great danger to the Fatherland's survival.

As to why I happem to live here, well, personal reasons. The fact that you bring it up and your barely concealed , sorry if I may be indirectly insulting you, American chauvinism, as in the 1950s-era "America love it or leave it buddy" remark, well, frankly, it smacks of disloyalty to the Fatherland in favor of a rich strange Uncle that molests you, so to speak.

You read too much into my inquiry. I am not saying "love it or leave it." I find people with such attitudes quite ... well... foolish and uninformed. Believe me, I have been told that exact statement many times.

Excuse me for misunderstanding the tone of your blog.

I too have a certain level of contempt for certain aspects American society. I also have admiration for certain aspects of it as well. The world is not black and white.

It is the American foreign/oil policies that I truly despise.

Anon,

Thank for clearing that up, the world ,like this blog, is certainly not black and white, despite first appearances (pun intended)
