Though I am anti-Jewish, this has never made me "pro-Arab". I detest Arabs. Yes, they are oppressed and brutalized, but they still stink.

These actions are perpetrated by punks and ignorant hot-headed people who use any excuse to vent their frustrations.

Their actions have been denounced by the Muslim authorities.

We should not generalize and accuse all Muslims of hatred and violence towards our Orthodox brothers and destruction of our Church's property in the Holy Land.

One has to ask himself why these actions of a few radicals are so publicized by the daily humiliations of our clerics at the hands of fundamentalist Jews in the region (spitting, cursing, etc.) is not discussed or denounced.

George awad has no jurisdiction nor the prerogative to apologize on behalf of the pope. George awad should recognize the the battle of Levant, - when the muslim Turks were checked and routed out of the mediterranean basin- was nothing but a pause in the eternal and everlasting confrontation between the muslim East and the Christian West.
George awad better recognize that his religion has its back against the wall, and that apologies are not going to win the day for the church or for anyone else. Paleologos yesterday, Benedictus today, the struggle goes on and the spoils to the victor and the victor will be the most ruthless, the most uncomprimising, the most undoubting and the most true believer.

There is no struggle between the "Christian West" and the "Islamic East" because there is no such entity as a "Christian West".

In truth, the West -- more correctly called the Judeo-Western world -- represents the greatest enemy of Christianity. Almost all anti-Christian forces are concentrated in the West. Though this is of no surprise given the fact that contemporary Western civilization is diametrically opposed to Christianity. However, even during the medieval era, before secularization did away with religion in Western lands, the West was not truly Christian --save for the few centuries that preceded the Papist heresy's (and the ensuing Protestant heresies') establishment -- since the true teachings of Christianity were distorted in those lands as a result of the barbarian nature of Westerners.

Only in Eastern lands did Christianity prevail and remain strong and undistorted. As such, the true confrontation is not so much between Christians and Muslims but rather between Christians and the West.
