More News Proving That The West Is Evil And Satanic

The English kill babies because....they have club feet.

The Times Online May 28, 2006
Babies with club feet aborted
Lois Rogers

MORE than 20 babies have been aborted in advanced pregnancy because scans showed that they had club feet, a deformity readily corrected by surgery or physiotherapy.

According to figures from the Office for National Statistics covering the years from 1996 to 2004, a further four babies were aborted because they had webbed fingers or extra digits, which are also corrected by simple surgery. All the terminations took place late in pregnancy, after 20 weeks.

Last year, according to campaigners, a healthy baby was aborted in the sixth month at ahospital in southeast England after ultrasound images indicated part of its foot was missing.

News of the terminations has reignited the debate over how scanning and gene technology may enable the creation of “designer babies”. In 2002 it emerged that a baby had been aborted late — at 28 weeks — after scans found that it had a cleft palate, another readily corrected condition.

Some parents, doctors and charities are increasingly worried by what they see as a tendency to widen the definition of “serious handicap”. The handicap provision, which does not exist in most other countries, permits abortions to be carried out until birth. It was intended to save women from the trauma of giving birth to babies likely to die in infancy.

Club foot is one of the most common birth defects in Britain. About one in 1,000 babies is affected, meaning that 600 to 700 infants are born with the condition every year. It results in the feet pointing downwards and inwards, and in severe cases can cause foot deformity and a limp.

Portrait Of A Scumbag: Greek Capitalist Vasilis Theoharakis

Vasilis Theoharakis (pictured above) is one of the major driving forces behind the Greek appeasement of Turkish violations and other outrages. This financier ,importer and distributor has his eyes on the loot which he can stash into his deep pockets with his favorable pro-Turkish trade relations that ultimately fatten his bank accounts and bankrupt indigenous Greek industries with all the products he can import from Turkey, just take a look at some quotes from the Turkish Daily News on his murky reasoning behind his theory that Greece and Turkey are "sisters":

Theoharakis probes major issues between Greece and Turkey: "We have many differences. We have Cyprus, the Aegean and the questionable oil in the Aegean. Then we have history poking its nose into our affairs. We believe Byzantines lived here once upon a time, and as Greeks, we believe Byzantium is Greek. This is not completely true but more or less this is so. Consequently, this past is an obstacle to the further improvement of the relationships between the two peoples. We are both descendants of Indo-Germans, why then we cannot live together peacefully?"

Huh? Turkish is certainly not an Indo-European or Indo-German language. Even by using racialist arguments his claims would be absurd, considering the huge proportion of Paki-looking Turks.

This is exactly who the appeasement policy of the Greek government is designed to help , a few scumbag Greek capitalists.

Greek Pilot Killed Over Aegean By Invading Turks

The breaking news this morning of the downing of a Greek plane by the regular Turkish military violators of Greek airspace was treated with the usual calls for calm by the acquiescent politicians who rule over the Fatherland.

Regarding the murder of a Greek by a Turkish invader aircraft today, "our" Foreign Ministry had this to say..."We have repeatedly stated that in our bilateral relations with Turkey, there is a necessity for conduct that strengthens good neighbourly relations and will also aid the European course of our neighbouring country."

I guess the Turks can just go ahead and kill a few more of us tomorrow, "our" Foreign Ministry will simply praise them for their good neighbourly relations.

Turkish State Angry Over Greek Genocide Memorial In Thessaloniki

I think it comical that the Greek State would even address the latest outrage by the Turkish state over the erection of a Greek Genocide memorial statue on Greek soil. It seems that the current Greek status quo has not yet bowed to Turkey over this latest request: “History has been written and cannot be rewritten,” said Evangelos Antonaros, the alternate government spokesman.

Knowing and studying the links to true power over time, I predict that it will only be a moment of time before Turkey's real backers, International Jewry, push for the dismantling of this statue memorial , along with an official apology. And the puppets who rule over our Fatherland will then bow deep and hard.

Message From +Bishop Christodoulos On This Past Sunday

This Sunday is the Fourth Sunday of Pascha - The
Sunday of the healing of the paralytic

QUESTION 1
In the scriptures, physical afflictions like paralysis, blindness, and leprosy often indicate or point to an even more serious problem. What is it?

ANSWER 1

Physical afflictions are often an indicator or reminder of the more serious affliction that besets all men - sins, and the passions which are the major cause of them. Our passions are like blindness or paralysis, because they impair our ability to live a righteous life, and cause us to miss the knowledge of God, as a blind man cannot see and a paralyzed man cannot go where he wants. This connection between the passions and sin and physical afflictions is well known in the mind of the church. This is not to say that sin always CAUSES physical afflictions. This is possible, however, in every case, afflictions are a reminder of our primary affliction and need for God.

Our Lord makes the connection between sin and afflictions repeatedly. In many cases, He forgave a man's sins before he healed him of his physical infirmity, to affect a complete healing and regeneration of the man. In other cases, he healed someone of their physical infirmity first, then later enlightened them concerning Himself (such as in the case of the man born without eyes), or reminded them about sin, which is their major affliction. One could say, and reclaim a highly charged word, that he is a "holistic" healer. The whole concept of healing and well being is profoundly different in the mind of the church than anywhere else. Physical infirmity is recognized as sometimes grievous, and sometimes as a great blessing, but healing from any infirmity is tied closely with the entire healing of soul and body that all Christians should seek.

As of old Thou didst raise up the paralytic, O Lord God, / by Thy God-like care and might, / raise up my soul which is palsied / by diverse sins and transgressions / and by unseemly deeds and acts, / that, saved I may also cry out: / O Compassionate Redeemer, O Christ God, // glory to Thy dominion and might. (Kontakion for the Sunday of the Paralytic, Tone 3)

Let us site some examples of how Christ ties physical healing to the entire spiritual healing of a man.

Healing from sins, then physical infirmity:
"And, behold, they brought to him a man sick of the palsy, lying on a bed: and Jesus seeing their faith said unto the sick of the palsy; Son, be of good cheer; thy sins be forgiven thee. ... {6} But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (then saith he to the sick of the palsy,) Arise, take up thy bed, and go unto thine house. (Matthew 9:2,6, also recounted in Mark and Luke)

Healing from physical infirmity, then enlightenment:
"And it came to pass, as he went to Jerusalem, that he passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee. {12} And as he entered into a certain village, there met him ten men that were lepers, which stood afar off.. {14} And when he saw them, he said unto them, Go show yourselves unto the priests. And it came to pass, that, as they went, they were cleansed. {15} And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God, {16} And fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan. {17} And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? But where are the nine? {18} There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger. {19} And he said unto him, Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole." (Luke 17: 11,14-19)

"{1} And as Jesus passed by, he saw a man which was blind from his birth. ... {6} ... He spat on the ground, and made clay of the spittle, and he anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay, {7} And said unto him, Go, wash in the pool of Siloam, (which is by interpretation, Sent.) He went his way therefore, and washed, and came seeing. ...{35} Jesus heard that they had cast him out; and when he had found him, he said unto him, Dost thou believe on the Son of God? {36} He answered and said, Who is he, Lord, that I might believe on him? {37} And Jesus said unto him, Thou hast both seen him, and it is he that talketh with thee. {38} And he said, Lord, I believe. And he worshipped him. (John 9:1-38, parts)

"After this there was a feast of the Jews; and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. {2} Now there is at Jerusalem by the sheep market a pool, which is called in the Hebrew tongue Bethesda ... {5} And a certain man was there, which had an infirmity thirty and eight years. {6} When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole? ... {8} Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk. {9} And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked... {14} Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee". (John 5:1-15, parts)

QUESTION 2
According to the scriptures, the witness of the fathers, and the overall mind of the church, what are at least two causes or reasons for physical infirmities?

ANSWER 2

It is clear that physical infirmities are sometimes because of a man's sins. The story of the healing of the paralytic shows this truth, as Jesus warns the man about his sins when He finds him in the temple. Some sins directly cause infirmity, such as smoking or alcohol abuse, or promiscuity. Sometimes sins cause physical infirmity in a less direct way, and the Fathers understand these afflictions to be a call to repentance of the erring man.

In some cases, however, there is no sin in a man's life, but the affliction is present for his edification and enlightenment, and sometimes to show the glory of God, whether the man is eventually healed, as was the case in the man born blind, or bears up under his infirmity with courage, patience and thanksgiving, as was the case in Lazarus, who lay at the gate of the rich man.

" A FEARFUL thing is sin, fearful, and the ruin of the soul, and the mischief oftentimes through its excess has overflowed and attacked men's bodies also. For since for the most part when the soul is diseased we feel no pain, but if the body receive though but a little hurt, we use every exertion to free it from its infirmity, because we are sensible of the infirmity, therefore God oftentimes punisheth the body for the transgressions of the soul, so that by means of the scourging of the inferior part, the better part also may receive some healing." (ST John Chrysostomos, Homily 38 on John)

"'What then,' saith one, 'do all diseases proceed from sin?' Not all, but most of them; and some proceed from different kinds of loose living, since gluttony, intemperance, and sloth, produce such like sufferings. Ibid.

QUESTION 3

What was the reaction of the Jews when Jesus healed the paralytic? Why?

ANSWER 3

The Jewish leaders were incensed when they saw Jesus heal on the Sabbath day, because of jealousy and hardness of heart.

"...And therefore did the Jews persecute Jesus, and sought to slay him, because he had done these things on the Sabbath day. (John 5:16)

"A word alone made strong the paralytic, / since it had been uttered by the universal Word, / Who had appeared upon the earth out of His love and compassion. / Wherefore, he departed hence and went forth bearing his own bed, / and the scribes, although they saw / this great deed which was brought to pass, / since they were held by evil and palsied in soul by their envy, // they endured not." (Sessional Hymn after the third ode of the Canon at matins for the Sunday of the Paralytic, sung in tone 3, special melody "Awed by the beauty")

QUESTION 4

Tell the story of the healing of the paralytic by the sheep's pool in your own words.

ANSWER 4

During a particular feast of the Jews, Jesus went to Jerusalem, and encountered a paralytic who had been laying for 38 years by the "sheep's pool", which was a place where the sheep were washed before sacrifice. Once a year, an angel would stir up the water, and the one person who reached the water first was healed of his infirmity. The paralytic waited for healing, even though he had no one to help him get into the water. Jesus healed him, and told him to take up his bed and walk. He was healed on the Sabbath day, and the wicked Jewish leaders interrogated the man concerning this, and were greatly angered. Later, Jesus found the man in the temple, where undoubtedly he was thanking God, and warned him to take care to sin no more, lest a worse thing befall him.

There is much meaning in this small, simple story. We can see a pointer towards a great Christian mystery, and we see Jesus as the only "man" who we can have to heal us of our infirmities - physical and spiritual. We also see the outrageous inhumanity (or, shall we say, ungodliness, since man is made in God's own image) of man, when he is consumed by jealousy.

QUESTION 5

The healing took place during a feast. Speculate as to which one it may have been. In the services, the answer seems to have been given.

ANSWER 5

The Jews celebrated three main feasts, Passover (or Pascha), Pentecost, and the Feast of Tabernacles The Evangelist does not mention which feast, but the proximity of the commemoration of healing of the paralytic to Mid-Pentecost in the Paschal season, causes one to surmise that it was at Mid-Pentecost that the paralytic was healed. The Jews celebrated Pentecost as a "feast of weeks" being 50 days in duration, and Mid-Pentecost was celebrated at the midpoint of this time. Christians have continued this practice. The services for this Sunday mention Mid-Pentecost:

"In Solomon's Porch there lay a multitude of sick. / And at Mid-feast Christ found there a paralytic / who had been bedridden for eight and thirty years. / To him He called out with a voice of authority: / wouldst thou be made whole? / And the infirm replied: / Sir, I have no man, / when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool. / And He saith unto him: / Take up thy bed. / Behold, thou art become whole, sin not again. / By the intercessions of the Theotokos, // O Lord, send down to us Thy great mercy." (Glory at the Aposticha, Vespers for the Sunday of the Paralytic, Tone 8)

QUESTION 6

Why and how long did the paralytic wait for healing at the sheep's pool? Why is this pool so called? What made the water have healing properties?

ANSWER 6

The paralytic waited for thirty-eight years beside the sheep's pool for healing. This pool was used to wash the sheep destined for sacrifice. Every year, an angel would "trouble the water", and whoever entered the water first after this event was healed of whatever infirmity he had. Of course, the water had no special properties. It was the power of God that gave the water healing power, and the angel was merely the servant of His holy will.

" And "an Angel came down and troubled the water," and endued it with a healing power, that the Jews might learn that much more could the Lord of Angels heal the diseases of the soul. Yet as here it was not simply the nature of the water that healed, (for then this would have always taken place,) but water joined to the operations of the Angel; so in our case, it is not merely the water that worketh, but when it hath received the grace of the Spirit, then it putteth away all our sins."(St John Cherrystone, Homily 36 on John)

QUESTION 7

What is pointed to by the healing in the water?

ANSWER 7

The healing of one man every year in the sheep's pool clearly points to the Christian mystery of baptism. As in all "types" which point to Christian realities and mysteries, this one is deficient. Only one man was healed at the sheep's pool, and he needed a helper so that he would reach the water first. All men can be healed by holy baptism, and Christ Himself will help everyone to have all that he needs. It is important to understand that baptism is not only the entrance into the church, and not only a cleansing, but it is the way in which a man is made whole and healed of all his infirmities. The healing of bodily infirmities in the sheep's pool only points to the total healing offered by God through baptism and the subsequent living of the Christian life.

"Of old an Angel came down to the sheep's pool and healed one man every year; but now Christ doth cleanse endless multitudes by divine baptism" (Canon of the paralytic, Ode 1, Troparion 4)

"What manner of cure is this? What mystery doth it signify to us? For these things are not written carelessly, or without a purpose, but as by a figure and type they show in outline things to come, in order that what was exceedingly strange might not by coming unexpectedly harm among the many the power of faith. What then is it that they show in outline? A Baptism was about to be given, possessing much power, and the greatest of gifts, a Baptism purging all sins, and making men alive instead of dead. These things then are fore shown as in a picture by the pool, and by many other circumstances. Baptism was about to be given, possessing much power, and the greatest of gifts, a Baptism purging all sins, and making men alive instead of dead. These things then are fore shown as in a picture by the pool, and by many other circumstances." St John Chrysostomos, Homilies on John, Homily 36, on John 4:54; 5:1

QUESTION 8
Who was the angel who "troubled the water"? Why do we know this?

ANSWER 8

The Holy Archangel Michael troubled the water at the Sheep's pool each year. The canon for the paralytic makes mention of Michael (who is known by the church as the "Supreme Commander" of the Heavenly Hosts) and asks his intercession several times. It is a shame that so many Orthodox and even priests eschew this holy service and deprive themselves of its mellifluent teaching. In so doing they deprive themselves of the heartfelt acknowledgement of the constant and powerful intercession of the Archangel Michael, the grandeur of the incarnation, pious and joyful meditation on the resurrection, and countless other "food for the soul". Truly, we are in the last days if Christians barely pray even on the weekend, and consider their "duty" to have been fulfilled by a scant hour on Sunday morning, and do not know even the simplest things.

"Together with the Hosts on High, O Archangel of God, make supplication for us who praise thee with faith, preserving and protecting us from falling into the passions of life" (Canon of the paralytic, Ode 3, Troparion 4)

"O leader of the Angels and guide for the erring, O Supreme Commander of the Lord, come into our midst at this hour, and bear the prayers of us all unto the only creator and Master (Canon of the paralytic, Ode 4, Troparion 5)

QUESTION 9

What is significant about the paralytic's explanation for why he was not healed?

ANSWER 9

The paralytic told the God-man that he had "no man" to help him. The priest, whose temple he was near, could not help him, no would the Levite come near. Only the God-man could help him. The same exact meaning is also conveyed in the parable of the "Good Samaritan". The man who is attacked by robbers, who represents all of humanity, is left half dead on the side of the road. The priest and the Levite pass by, because they cannot help the man. Some take this "passing by" to be an indication of their lack of charity, but the fathers have mined a deeper and more powerful meaning from their passing. Neither the law nor the prophets, not any mortal man or teaching can save us. Only the God-man, Who is the Samaritan who helps the half-dead man, can effect our complete healing.

At the Sheep's Pool, a man lay in illness; / and on seeing Thee, O Lord, he cried; / I have no man, that, when the water is troubled, / he might put me therein. / But when I go, / another preceedeth me and receiveth the healing, / and I lie in illness. / And straightway, taking compassion on him, / the Savior saith unto him: / For thee I became man, / for thee I am clothed in flesh, / and sayest thou: I have no man? / take up thy bed and walk. / All things are possible to Thee, / all things are obedient to Thee, / all things are subject to thee. / Remember us all and have mercy on us, O Holy One, // since Thou art the Friend of man. (Vespers for the Sunday of the Paralytic, Glory from the Litya)

QUESTION 10

Compare and contrast the healing of the paralytic at the sheep's pool with the paralytic healed at Peter's house.

ANSWER 10

Here are several differences and similarities between the two stories:

Sins mentioned at different times. The paralytic at Peter's house was healed of his sins first, and the one at the sheep's' pool was reminded concerning his sins after he was healed of his physical infirmity.
Both had faith. The one on the pallet had to endure much to get in the presence of Jesus, the one at the pool waited a long time.
The one on the pallet had the help of four men, the one at the pool had "no man" to help him..
Both were healed by a word by Jesus.
Both healings were on the Sabbath.
The wicked unbelieving Pharisees were angry both times.
Both stories are read during the Divine Liturgy on the Sunday of the Paralytic, which is the Fourth Sunday of Pascha.
Look at these two stories yourself - don't just read the answer!

OCCUPIED PALESTINE: NEO-NAZI SKINHEADS? AYE CARUMBA!

[politicalsoldier.net says: Mr. Hoffman overlooks one aspect of this, and that is the growth of Black Metal and other nihilist groups in Israel.
How unfortunate to see these types, whom the politicians, entertainment industry et al are happy to see operate in Europe and America where they sometimes attack Churches or engage in nihilst behaviour designed to outrage, operate in Israel where the only 'religious' places they can get to in their own areas are, of course, mosques.
No doubt some ethnic Russian or quasi-Russian types may have a perceived racial motive too...
Seems the chosenites are not free from the detrimental effects of their own industries in Hollywood, New York and elsewhere -- and I guess there is some comfort to be gained from that! "Neo-Nazi Gangs" Operating in "Israel"
EDITOR'S NOTE: A few years ago an American contact of mine who visits
occupied Palestine regularly, conveyed a fascinating speculation: that
many of the Russian "Jews" who were entering the Israeli state were
actually crypto-gentiles and that this was eventually going to prove to
be a time bomb for the Israelis.
His observation would seem to be confirmed by the startling news that
"neo-Nazi skinheads" are operating within "Israel"! Given their famous
penchant for blowing everything out of proportion, the Israelis are
probably exaggerating the extent of the threat (they relish
victimization), but even if only half of this story is true, the
Israelis now have a dangerous fifth-column festering in the very bowels
of their nation. Of course, some would say that a neo-Nazi gang has been
operating in occupied Palestine for years: the Israeli Army.

FEAR AND LOATHING IN PETAH TIKVA
NEO-NAZI GANGS ASSAULTING ULTRA-ORTHODOX JEWS
By Moti Katz
Haaretz May 11, 2006
A week after the desecration of the Great Synagogue in Petah Tikva,
nothing remains of the horror the worshipers encountered there last
Thursday when they arrived for morning prayers. The walls, which had
been sprayed with swastikas and blasphemy, have been newly painted, the
floor polished and the curtain covering the holy ark replaced.
However, the danger is far from over. For the past two years the
ultra-Orthodox community there, which includes some 5,000 families and
300 synagogues, has been subjected to incessant attacks by street gangs
from the former Soviet Union (FSU). The gangs have been beating
ultra-Orthodox men, hurling curses at them and desecrating synagogues.
"These youths feel out of place in the Russian community they belong to,
but they are not accepted in Israeli society either," says Bella
Alexandrov, the director of the multi-disciplinary youth center in Petah
Tikva. She distinguishes between two kinds of immigrants - punks and
skinheads.
"The skinheads buy Russian videos about 'white power' that call for
cleansing Russia of Jews. They don't get it from home. It comes from not
belonging and not finding answers to their distress."
On Sukkot eve last year, a number of teens bearing knives burst into the
big Lithuanian yeshiva, "Or Israel" on Rothschild Street in the city
center. They started beating pupils, and throwing prayer books and
scriptures on the floor.
Yeshiva head Rabbi Yigal Rozen has no doubt that these incidents are
anti-Semitic.
"There has always been violence in Israel, but never directed at
synagogues. This started only in recent years. A month after the Sukkot
incident, two yeshiva students were attacked and beaten up by Russian
teens. The police arrested three of the attackers," he says. Most of
the victims were dressed like ultra-Orthodox Jews, Rozen says, and
therefore concludes that the assailants could not be Jewish.
"It's time the police realized these are anti-Semitic attacks. These
gangs are not after money. The charity boxes were not robbed, nor were
the Torah books, which are worth a fortune," he says.
Many of the incidents occur in the parks in the city center because
numerous low-income immigrant families from Russia live there, says
Rahamim Arbel, Jewish cultural coordinator for Petah Tikva's community
centers. "On Friday nights Russian teens gather in parks with lots of
alcohol and bongs. It's very unpleasant for the residents of the
neighborhood," he says.
Arbel himself was attacked two years ago. He was with his small son and
two friends, and they were returning from a lesson. On Rothschild street
they were accosted by a group of drunk teenage boys and girls, aged 15
to 16.
"They started swearing at us. I whispered to the others to walk away.
The girls ran after us spitting and kicking. We fled. I got over it but
my son will never forget that day," he recalls.
An elderly man was attacked on Friday night a year ago but did not go to
the police.
"I live in the center, near a park where the Russian gangs gather on
Friday nights. Returning from a family visit I approached the park," he
says. "A few boys demanded money and threatened me with a broken bottle.
I told them I had no money because it was the Sabbath and went on
walking. They knocked my hat off, kicked my shin and started kicking my
hat. I tried to run and they followed me, cursing and throwing empty
beer bottles. They were definitely harassing me because of my religious
dress, because others passed by undisturbed," he says.
"My parents survived the Holocaust. I come from exile and know what
persecution is; and that's what I felt. Their appearance and the chains
around their necks reminded me of neo-Nazis," he says.
Acting Mayor Paltiel Eisental tries to be reassuring. The relations
between the city's secular and religious residents are very good, he
says. This is a small gang, not a widespread trend, he says.
"You must distinguish between vandalism due to theft and what happened
in the Great Synagogue last week, which was brutality and hatred. I
don't believe Jews could have done that. Those were acts aimed against a
nation, against an idea. It's Nazism," he says.
The city council held an emergency meeting last week after the
synagogue's desecration, and decided to safeguard the synagogue and find
the vandals and indict them. Eisental says the city has a vandalism
patrol in problem areas, but is having trouble reinforcing it due to a
personnel shortage.
"Every Hanukkah we put a nice big menorah at the yeshiva's entrance,
right on the street," says Rabbi Rozen. "This year we were forced to put
a security camera on it so that it wouldn't be vandalized," he adds
sadly.

The Issue Of Dress For Our Women

iranianforaryans said...
Good point, HN. I, too, believe in modesty in attire, however, I'm not as prudish as the Islamists, and sundry puritans.
As closer to truth as the Muslims might be to attire, it is abysmal to live under their thumb. Indeed, these pious-types are the breed that outlaw women from singing. Thus, opera is outlawed in their nations. A nation without a beautiful lyric soprano is empty, and ugly.
There must be a happy medium between modesty, and beauty. Perhaps European clothing styles from a century or so ago are the way to go?

I favor the extreme because it allows for a few liberties with dress , such as face covering to slip through the cracks once in a while, the archaic fashions of the 19th Century may cover arms and hair, but still expose the neck and face. Then again, it would get more and more difficult to even be attracted to woman in the first place if the eye was not given its due.

This web page has a few renderings of Greek heroine Bouboulina, and gives you an idea of what women of the 19th Century revealed , compare with today's open air bordello.

Whilst I certainly am not a follower of Islam, I can , as an Orthodox Christian support modesty in street attire. According to Orthodox Christian Canon law , this is exactly how Greek women should be dressing....

With Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's ascension to Iran's presidency, there has been a marked change in the country's stance on a number of issues. One such issue concerns a new domestic crackdown on women who do not follow the strict Islamic dress code. Teams of patrols are seen on the streets of Tehran, and in some other large cities, busting young girls — in some cases boys — and taking them into detention. Offenders are sometimes even struck with police batons. (LINK)

Top White House Posts Go To Jews

Jerusalem Post

After appointing Joshua Bolten to be the White House chief of staff, US President George W. Bush nominated another Jewish staffer, Joel Kaplan, to serve as Bolten's deputy, putting him in charge of the daily policy planning. The fact that White House policy is now in the hands of two Jews is not seen as significant by activists in the American Jewish community.

Another Study In Contrasts

The following article is from Final Conflict ezine, check the blog links.Condi also visited Greece recently , but the only protests I heard about were , ironically, from the Communists. Meanwhile , Bulgaria, a country that was actually officially ruled by Communists for decades has the Nationalists pitted against the USA, ironic to say the least...

BULGARIA: NATIONALISTS OPPOSE U.S. WAR-MONGERS

The following article shows that far-off Bulgaria is alive to the threat of US. warmongering. It is notable that the only opposition to the pro-Yank, pro-Israel lobby in the country is the nationalist organization of Siderov - an ally of Roberto Fiore's Forza Nuova in Italy. Proof yet again that for all their bluster, the Left are nothing more than puppets and poodles of Anglo-American and Zionist imperialism. They are long on rhetoric, short on action.

Sofia Under Siege as
Condi Comes to Town
Bulgarians rally against war and empire by Raina Borisova

Elderly citizens of Bulgaria's capital say they can't remember anything like this even in the 1970s, the time of the Brezhnev Doctrine that followed the 1968 Prague Spring events, when the country was gripped by harsh totalitarian rule.
At 8:00 a.m. on April 25, two days before the arrival of the U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, the police cordoned off the city center, cutting off its inhabitants from the rest of the country.
Military choppers hover over Sofia as jet fighters and armored vehicles secure the informal meeting of NATO foreign ministers. The capital is blocked, reads the headline in the Standart daily.
"Each meter of Sofia's boulevards will be secured by policemen, and snipers will be installed on the roofs of the buildings around the National Palace of Culture, where the meeting will be held. The armored vehicles of the Gendarmerie will be ready for action in case of threats, protests, or riots", the newspaper explains.
Some 35 major boulevards and streets in the central part of the city are deserted. Even parking lots are empty. No traffic is allowed. People have to walk. Those living in the central quarters are allowed to come and go to their homes only upon presenting their ID cards. Their vehicles are stored in other, more peripheral parts of the capital, where Sofia's citizens struggle with hellish traffic.
Some of the measures involve denying basic human rights. For instance, the home and business phones in the deserted center are switched off. Even the flowerpots on the streets, as well as in the lobbies of hotels, banks, and other office buildings, have been removed. Shops, banks, and other commercial outlets are closed for four days – with no compensation for the lost revenue, of course. Witnesses say that on April 25 a column of military armored vehicles was paraded along some streets for no apparent reason other than to scare the annoyed citizenry into silence.
Why the fuss?
The security measures are for an informal NATO meeting being held here April 27-28. Informal, because no decisions are to be made and no agreements are to be signed. Some 36 delegations arrived. Among the high guests are Jaap de Hoop Scheffer and the EU's Javier Solana. But it's the highest guest, Condoleezza Rice, that the whole fuss is about. The single opposition, antiwar party in the country – the nationalist Ataka ("Attack"), planned a massive protest rally against the four U.S. military bases conceded by the current government. While in Bulgaria, Rice will sign the agreement on the 10-year concession of the Bezmer and Graf Ignatievo airfields, the Novo Selo compound, and a munitions warehouse at the Black Sea coast near the town of Bourgas. The government – a coalition of a socialist party, a neoliberal right-wing party. and a Turkish ethnic party, all of whom enjoy a notorious reputation as Washington's puppets, don't want their puppet master Rice to see how much the local population loathes having foreign military bases on Bulgarian soil.
Ever since the nationalist party entered parliament in June last year, an increasing smear campaign against its members has been unleashed in the mainstream media. Spin and libel, most often naοve and easy to refute, have accompanied every action of the party and its leader, Volen Siderov, whose popularity in polls has been growing. In March, he topped an Internet survey for person of the month.
Repressive measures, meant to thwart the month-long relay of protests organized by Ataka against the U.S. bases around the country, have been implemented. A few weeks ago, a special car "accident" was arranged against Siderov as he was returning from a protest rally. About 11:00 p.m. on a rainy night, his car was hit from behind by a Mercedes jeep driven by a Bulgarian student studying "intelligence sciences" in the UK, while another car stopped in front of Siderov's vehicle to prevent him from leaving. The car is displayed at the party's parking lot so that everyone can see it was hit from behind, yet no official steps have been undertaken to clarify who hit it or why.
It has been widely alleged that after being hit by the Mercedes, Siderov's driver came out and punched the Mercedes owner. After some time, Siderov called the police and on the next day filed a statement asking the authorities to investigate if an attempt had been made on his life. There has been no investigation of the accident itself, yet Siderov's driver faces triple charges. Siderov himself was accused of having instigated his driver to hit the student.
On April 26, a prosecutor announced that detaining Ataka's leader on April 27 was being considered over allegations that he lied to the authorities about the details of the road accident. Citing his colleague, chief prosecutor Boris Velchev stated he would consider demanding the revocation of Siderov's parliamentary immunity – a poorly veiled attempt to prevent Siderov from speaking at the rally.
In the meantime Sofia's mayor, Boiko Borissov, who is in charge of implementing the above measures, revoked his permission for the protest rally to be held in front of the National Palace of Culture, where the NATO meeting is being held. Eventually people were allowed to protest, but at a safe, 2-km distance from the Palace so that the NATO foreign ministers would not hear the rally's message.
Yet Thursday's rally happened despite all preventive measures. Some six or seven thousand people managed to overcome the cordons and convened at a park several hundred meters from the freshly built U.S. embassy. Police numbered some 1,500, equipped with machine guns, dogs, gas masks, etc.
After three hours of speeches stating the American boot will never be welcome in Bulgaria, and appeals to the government to resign immediately, the rally marched to the U.S. embassy to deliver a declaration and a petition with 200,000 signatures against a U.S. military presence in Bulgaria. They were kept for an hour under the rain in front the fortress (it truly looks like a fortification of sorts). Then someone came from within and told them their petition cannot be received by the U.S. embassy.
Protests will continue until the U.S. mission receives the petition.

New Site On The Gulag: Communist Concentration Camps

The Gulag was a massive system of forced labor camps in the former Soviet Union. Throughout its history some 18 million passed through its prisons and camps. Under Stalin, labor camp prisoners became an important resource for the construction of many industries, including the nation's railways and roads, mining operations, and the timber industry. Millions suffered in the camps, many guilty of no crime. An unknown number – but well into the millions -- died in Gulag camps. Those who died of hunger, cold, and hard labor were easily replaced by new prisoners. (LINK)
